Why working harder almost destroyed my productivity (and what I do differently now)

LinkedIn Post (Changed Version)
🔥 I thought the secret to success was working harder than everyone else.

Turns out… it almost cost me everything.
For months, I was stuck in 12-hour coding marathons:
  • I felt productive.
  • I looked busy.
  • But inside, I was running on empty.
And here’s the painful truth:
👉 Long hours don’t equal better output. They equal burnout.
When I finally slowed down and restructured my work, everything changed:
Deep Work Blocks → 50 mins of focus, 10 mins break.
Clear Priorities → 3 most important tasks per day, no more.
Shipping over Perfection → Progress > endless polishing.
The results?
  • I wrote cleaner code.
  • I had fewer errors.
  • And most importantly, I enjoyed building again.
Lesson learned:
Your brain is your most valuable tool. Treat it like your best asset, not a disposable resource.
💬 Over to you: How do you protect your energy while staying productive?
